Teen PHP care built different — Flower Mound, TX

Restoration Youth & Family is a Partial Hospitalization Program for teens ages 13–17 in DFW — five days a week, in a space designed to feel like hope instead of a hospital. Because the environment you heal in matters just as much as the work you do there.

At Restoration, we never confuse who someone is with what they're going through. Every teenager who walks through our door is seen as a whole person — not a label to manage.

Our Mission & Purpose

Intensive, evidence-based care for teens and families — equipping young people with the skills, insight, and new narratives they need to move forward. Delivered with genuine warmth, not just clinical competence.

Our Vision

A DFW community where no teenager faces a mental health crisis alone — where families are equipped and supported, and where getting help is seen as the courageous, smart thing to do.

The beliefs that shape everything we do

People are not their problems

A teenager is never their diagnosis. Every person here is seen as whole — not a label to manage.

Restoration is real

Not coping. Not managing. Real, meaningful change in the direction of a life. We believe that's possible for every family we serve.

Authentic connection

Real healing requires honesty. We create space where teens and families can show up as they truly are — and our staff does the same.

Family is central

The teen in our program is one part of a family system. We work with the whole unit — because that's what produces lasting change.

Evidence-based and human

Clinical rigor and genuine warmth are not opposites. We use research-backed approaches and deliver them like human beings.

Whole-person wellness

Emotional, relational, physical, and educational — all of it, together. Including nutrition, sleep, academic continuity, and body-based practice.

Why we built something different in Flower Mound

"What's your Re?" — Every teen chooses a word that captures what they're working toward. Reflect. Reclaim. Rewrite. Reconnect. That word becomes their compass.

Michelle Schwolert, Monya Crow, and Jill Adams started Restoration Youth & Family out of a conviction that teens in DFW deserved something genuinely different — a program that combines clinical excellence with academic support, in a space that actually feels safe and welcoming.

The idea for the space came before the walls were built. Every design choice — the exposed brick, the warm wood, the hand-painted murals — was intentional. The name tells the whole story: restoration. Not just coping. Real, meaningful change in the trajectory of a teenager's life.

This was built for your teenager — and for you

For Teens

Ages 13–17 who are struggling in ways that weekly therapy alone isn't reaching — missing school, withdrawing, overwhelmed by anxiety or depression, dealing with self-harm, or stepping down from inpatient. You are exactly who we built this for.

For Parents

The ones lying awake at night. Who have tried everything and don't know what to try next. Who love their child fiercely and feel out of their depth. You belong here too — and you'll have your own place in this program, not just a waiting room.

From your first call to your teen's first day

Here's what the process actually looks like — no surprises, no pressure, just a clear path forward from the moment you reach out.

A free, honest conversation

You reach out. We listen. No pressure, no commitment — just an honest call about what's going on and whether we're the right fit.

We handle insurance together.

Out-of-network with all major commercial plans. We verify your benefits and walk you through the financial picture before you decide anything.

A thorough, compassionate intake

Our clinical team takes time to understand your teen's full history and goals — coordinating with any previous providers so nothing falls through the cracks.

A gentle, intentional first week

No deep end. Teens meet the space, the team, their peers, and their Re word. Individual work begins: core values, externalizing the problem, and the anchoring question: "How did I get here?"

Five full days of real treatment

Groups, individual therapy, DBT skills, academic support, family programming, and psychiatric care — all guided by a weekly Re theme that gives treatment real arc.

A step-down with a real plan

Planning starts before discharge. IOP, outpatient, or community referral — your teen leaves with appointments already made, not just a piece of paper.

Frequently asked Questions

Which level of care is right for my teenager?

Both our programs are for teens who need more than weekly therapy but don't require 24-hour inpatient care. PHP runs full days, five days a week, for teens whose daily life has become genuinely unmanageable. IOP runs Tuesday through Thursday, half-day or full-day, for teens who need real intensity but can hold school and home life alongside it. You don't have to know which one fits — we'll figure that out together in a free consultation.

How is Restoration different from other programs?

Most programs build around a diagnosis. We build around a story. Narrative Therapy, the Re framework, parents with their own programming, and certified teachers — none of that is standard. All of it matters.

What does a typical day look like?

Check-in and grounding, DBT skills group, Narrative or ACT process group, individual therapy, specialty group, and expressive activity. Lunch prepared fresh every day by a local chef. PHP days are full and run Monday through Friday; IOP runs Tuesday through Thursday with half-day and full-day options. Every day has structure. Every week has a theme.

Will my teen fall behind in school?

No — we built specifically to prevent that. Our certified teachers coordinate directly with your teen's school district on attendance, makeup work, credit recovery, and IEP or 504 accommodations. In PHP and full-day IOP, teens also receive on-site academic support. Mental health treatment and academic continuity are not in competition here.

Do parents have to be involved?

Yes — and not just because we require it, but because it works. Lunch & Learns, weekly family support group, one full Family Intensive, regular therapist communication. You will never feel left out of your teen's care.

How long does the program last?

Program length varies based on each teen's needs and progress. We evaluate regularly and make step-down decisions collaboratively — and we don't discharge anyone without a clear plan for what comes next.

Good things are going to happen. Let’s start today.

Whether you're in the middle of a crisis or just know your teen needs more than a weekly appointment, you don't have to navigate this alone.
